Duke Tops Harris Poll Of Favorite College Basketball Teams For Fifth Straight Year

Duke is the favorite men’s basketball team among all U.S. adults for the fifth straight year, with North Carolina finishing in second place for the second straight year, according to results of a recent Harris Poll. Duke has held the top spot in the poll each year since being tied with UNC at No. 1 in ’10. Duke last finished No. 2 to UNC in ’09. Rejoining the top 10 teams this year are Syracuse, UConn, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Wichita State also cracks the top 10 for the first time on the heels of its run to the Final Four last season and undefeated regular season in ’13-14. Four teams dropped out of the top 10 from ’13: Gonzaga, Illinois, Georgetown and Texas. This year’s poll was conducted online among 2,234 U.S. adults between March 12-17. See tomorrow’s issue for favorite women’s teams (Harris Poll).
