MLB Marketing Notes: Acer Inks Deal With Blue Jays To Become Team's Laptop/Tablets Partner

Acer announced that it has signed a deal to become an official partner of the Blue Jays and will support the team with a national marketing campaign throughout the '14 campaign. Acer as part of the deal will be the exclusive category partner for laptops and tablets and have marketing programs and in-stadium promotions at Rogers Centre. Acer also will receive branding throughout the ballpark including a double outfield wall position, digital signage and an in-game feature. Acer will be the exclusive sponsor of the Sportsnet Pitch Tracker in broadcasts for the first half of the season (Acer).

: AAA Michigan today announced that it has inked a five-year sponsorship deal with the Tigers. Beginning with Opening Day, AAA will have a significant brand presence on the Pepsi Porch, which will be visible to both those at the ballpark and those watching on TV. The two parties have longstanding history together (AAA Michigan).

A NICE CATCH
: Mizuno announced that it has signed a multiyear endorsement deal with Braves SS Andrelton Simmons, becoming his official glove provider. Simmons joins a growing list of players at that position who serve as brand ambassadors for Mizuno, along with the Phillies' Jimmy Rollins, Nationals' Ian Desmond and Tigers' Jose Iglesias. Simmons won a Gold Glove award for the '13 MLB season (THE DAILY).

GREAT OUDOORS
: Academy Sports + Outdoors yesterday announced a renewal of its deal to sponsor the Braves, which began six years ago. This comes as Academy prepares to open two new Atlanta-area stores (Academy Sports + Outdoors).
