Australia-Based Fan Engagement Platform Trying To Expand Into U.S. College Market

CheckInLine, an Australia-based startup fan engagement platform, has aligned with Atlanta-based ticket and marketing outfit The Aspire Group to aid its expansion into the American collegiate market. CheckInLine's platform involves gamifying the ticketing around high-demand events, as fans using the product check in with a mobile application and improve their chances to gain seats for high-demand events. The platform yields a virtual queue that then can be used for data mining purposes. The CheckInLine platform can also be used to award experiential prizes, such as meet-and-greets with coaches and players. Through The Aspire Group, CheckInLine has been beta-tested at Arizona State, and other committed schools thus far include Boise State, Cal and Illinois State. "Imagine a captive audience that is waiting in a physical queue to buy tickets or win a prize. Now imagine walking along and talking and engaging with these fans as they wait in the queue," said CheckInLine Founder & CEO Ben Flavel. "CheckInLine has created this opportunity in this virtual world." The Aspire Group Chair & CEO Bernie Mullin is serving as an advisor to the company. "All sport properties struggle with efficient ways to collect fan contact data and use it to reward their most loyal supporters," Mullin said. "Colleges in particular ... feel this pressure the most and CheckInLine has found a simple and fun solution."
