Under Armour Launches In Brazil As Part of Effort To Grow International Sales

Under Armour will have a "front row seat for the upcoming World Cup and 2016 Olympics now that the company officially launched in Brazil," according to Sarah Meehan of the BALTIMORE BUSINESS JOURNAL. UA Founder, Chair & CEO Kevin Plan traveled to São Paulo today to "debut the brand in what he called a critical step toward reaching the company’s international expansion goals." South and Central America are "key growth markets" for UA, which "opened offices Brazil and Chile last year." Just 6% of the company’s $2.3B in revenue last year "came from outside North America." Initially, UA will "launch in Brazil with training and running apparel and footwear, as well as sport-specific collections" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/12).
