SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Michael Smith reports Wasserman Media Group has "opened a new office in Dubai that will focus on corporate consulting and events in golf, and potentially other sports." WMG named former Octagon VP/Golf DAVID COLLINS Senior VP, and he will lead the new UAE office. WMG Principal MALCOLM TURNER said that the goal for the new office is to "develop more global sports marketing business, primarily in the Middle East" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 2/24 issue).

THE RUNNING MAN: Magazine publisher Source Interlink Media named former Competitor Group CEO SCOTT DICKEY to the same position. Previously, Source Interlink Media and its sibling company, Source Interlink Distribution, "had shared a CEO" in MICHAEL SULLIVAN, "who will now focus solely on the distribution arm." Dickey also had a prior stint as Transworld Media President. Dickey "plans to use his prior experience by expanding the company's live events business." He also "didn't rule out acquisitions, especially in the actions sports and automotive categories" (ADWEEK.com, 2/25).

EXECS: Silver Chalice promoted VP/Sales for the Midwest DAN SCALIA to Senior VP/Business Development and named WWE VP/Global Digital Sales BRIAN MADDOX VP/Ad Sales (Silver Chalice)....DirecTV Sports Networks named USGA Chief Legal Officer JIM NOEL Senior Counsel. Noel will report to DirecTV Sports Networks President PATRICK CRUMB and will be based in the company's Seattle HQs (DirecTV)....South Carolina State Univ. AD CHARLENE JOHNSON is shifting to the role of Exec Dir of Athletics Fundraising (SCSU)....Back9Network named Lockton Cos. President of Northeast Operations GARY GIULIETTI to its BOD (Back9Network).
