Final Ratings: Pro Bowl Down Against Grammys; Winter X Games Off From '13

The Pro Bowl, which had strong competition from the Grammys, drew its lowest audience this year since ’09, when the game also went up against the music awards ceremony. NBC finished with a 6.6 rating and 11.4 million viewers on Sunday night, down from a 7.1 rating and 12.2 million viewers last year, when there was no competition from the Grammys.

SNOW PLOW: The Winter X Games averaged 1.03 million viewers for seven telecasts across ABC and ESPN, down 3% from nine telecasts last year. There was a significant drop for the X Games’ Sunday night audience, as ESPN had strong competition from the Grammys and Pro Bowl. However, ABC’s lone telecast on Saturday afternoon averaged 1.7 million viewers, up 30% from the net’s telecast last year.

FIGHT NIGHT: UFC on Fox 10 drew a 1.9 rating and 3.17 million viewers for Benson Henderson’s win over Josh Thomson last Saturday night. Those figures are well below the previous two UFC on Fox telecasts that involved Henderson (Dec. 8, 2012 and April 20, 2013). The audience also is down 21% and 25%, respectively, from UFC on Fox 6, which featured Demetrious Johnson-John Dodson in the same window last year. Through 10 UFC telecasts, Fox is averaging 3.49 million viewers.
