Texans See Empty Seats At Reliant Stadium; Columnist Calls For McNair To Clean House

The announced attendance at yesterday's Jaguars-Texans game was 71,659, but Reliant Stadium "was as empty Sunday as it has been this season," according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. There was a "noticeable lack of excitement surrounding the stadium before and during the game" (CHRON.com, 11/24). In Houston, Jerome Solomon wrote Texans fans "would lose it" if team Owner Bob McNair were to announce that coach Gary Kubiak "is coming back for a ninth season." Kubiak's "mini-stroke doesn't complicate matters." His team was "a diagnosed disaster before the medical emergency." Solomon: "Handing pink slips to friends, men McNair has respected and worked alongside for the better part of a decade, isn't going to be a pleasant task, but it's a must if winning is important to McNair" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/23).
