Overnight Ratings: ESPN, CBS Lead CFB With UCLA-Oregon, Tennessee-Alabama

Overnight ratings for college football games were led by two blowouts this past weekend. ESPN earned a 2.8 overnight for Oregon’s 42-14 win over UCLA from 7:15-10:15pm ET on Saturday, while CBS earned the same number for Alabama’s 45-10 win over Tennessee from 3:30-6:45pm. ABC drew a 2.6 overnight for Penn State-Ohio State in primetime, matching the rating that Fox got for Texas Tech-Oklahoma from 4:45-7:30pm. Fox was forced to move the end of that game to Fox News in order to begin World Series Game 3. Texas Tech-Oklahoma had been delayed over an hour due to lightning. Meanwhile, ESPN drew a 2.3 overnight for yesterday afternoon’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Martinsville Speedway, up slightly from a 2.2 rating for the race last year.

Listed below are overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
