Bucks Owner Remains Confident A New Arena Will Eventually Replace Bradley Center

Bucks Owner Herb Kohl yesterday expressed is "confident the Bucks and the Milwaukee community will get a new downtown multi-use facility to replace the 25-year-old BMO Harris Bradley Center," according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Kohl “reiterated that he plans to make a ‘significant’ financial contribution” to a new arena that could also be used for Marquette Univ. basketball, the AHL Milwaukee Admirals, and other entertainment events. Kohl said, "Everybody in the abstract says (a new arena) will be a good thing -- by everybody I mean most people. But how are we going to fund it? And that's our challenge” (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/30). Kohl said of the correlation between the Bucks' on-court success and the arena issue, "Naturally you want to be as good as you can be, that helps in moving towards an arena. But I would not want to put that burden on our basketball operation, that we need to conduct ourselves and run our business basketball-wise thinking about the facility" (JSONLINE.com, 9/30).
