In Miami, Adam Beasley cites sources as saying that the Dolphins “quietly extended” the contract for GM JEFF IRELAND during the offseason. The new contract “ensures Ireland will be with the team through at least" next season. His previous deal “was set to expire after the current campaign.” Ireland has been with club since ’08 (MIAMI HERALD, 9/24).

BOURBON STREET EXIT: Pelicans VP/Communications HAROLD KAUFMAN has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Kaufman began his career with the expansion Hornets in '88, moved with the team to New Orleans in '02 and stayed with franchise after Saints Owner TOM BENSON bought the Hornets in '12 and renamed the team earlier this year. Kaufman's last day is Friday. His duties will be absorbed by Saints Senior VP/Communications GREG BENSEL. Kaufman said, "I'm proud to be part of this group for all these years. I can’t speak to what is next, but I am excited about what the future holds" (John Lombardo, Staff Writer).

The team also promoted DANIEL RAMIREZ to PR Coordinator for the club’s NBA D-League L.A. D-Fenders affiliate, replacing NICK MAZZELLA, who became the developmental team’s GM (Lakers)....World Fishing Network named ESPN syndication distribution exec NEIL BRUBAKER Senior Dir of Affiliate Sales (WFN).
