Top NFL Sponsorship Exec John Brody Leaving League After Less Than A Year

NFL Senior VP/Sponsorship & Media Sales JOHN BRODY will soon leave the top sponsorship job which he began only in February. NFL VP/Communications BRIAN MCCARTHY said Brody’s move was catalyzed by NFL Media COO BRIAN ROLAPP’s decision to split sponsorship and media sales into separate functions, following the recent departure of VP/Media Sales DAVID PATTILLO, who left to join Twitter. An e-mail from Rolapp to staffers read, “As a result of this decision to split Sponsorship and Media Sales, John Brody, who has been our head of the combined sponsorship and media sales group, has decided that he will be pursuing other sponsorship and media sales roles outside of the NFL. That said, he has agreed to work with me and the team to manage the transition.” VP/Business Development RENIE ANDERSON has been promoted to Senior VP/Sponsorship & Partnership Management, a new position that will include new business as well as day-to-day management of NFL sponsors. Anderson was part of the '13 SBJ/SBD Forty Under 40 class. Rolapp said he would launch an immediate search for a Senior VP/Media Sales and the department would report to him in the interim.
