Media Notes

SB NATION's Travis Hughes noted the Flyers last night debuted their new web video series "Flight Plan," and the eight-minute episode "focused on the scouting staff as they prepared for this year's NHL Draft." The entire show "centered on a debate over the team's draft board, which took place the Friday before the draft." The episode was "a bit short, but after parsing everything that was said, we still learned a lot about the team's decision-making process." It is "easy to read into what we saw either positively or negatively, but remember ... this is only eight minutes long and it's basically only one little conversation." There is "still a lot we didn't get to see, but hey, it's better than nothing" (SBNATION.com, 8/6).

I'M A CLOWN? I AMUSE YOU? ESPN.com notes the official Twitter feeds of the Braves and Nationals "mixed it up a bit Tuesday night, shortly after players from both teams spilled out of the dugouts and bullpens" during the team's game in DC. After Braves P Julio Teheran hit Nationals CF Bryce Harper with a pitch, Harper "barked at Teheran and pointed at him." The Braves, "tweaking Harper's famous retort to a reporter, 'That's a clown question, bro,'" tweeted, "Clown move bro." The Nationals tweeted back, "@Braves Which part, giving up the home run, or drilling the 20-year-old on the first pitch his next time up?" (ESPN.com, 8/7).

MORE IS BETTER: ESPN's "College GameDay" is expanding to three hours on ESPN, airing from 9:00am-12:00pm ET on Saturdays. The football pregame show's season opener on Aug. 31 for Georgia-Clemson game will run for four hours from the campus of Clemson (ESPN).
