In London, Owen Gibson reported Gold Medal-winning Great Britain distance runner MO FARAH on Wednesday "broke All England Club rules" by using his mobile phone. The club said that it was "looking into the matter" after Farah "uploaded footage from the court on to Twitter Thursday night after his trip to Wimbledon." Wimbledon rules state that phones "must be switched off in and around the courts during play." There is "unlikely to be any action against Farah" (GUARDIAN, 6/27).

DOES BO KNOW LITIGIATION? In Portland, Matthew Kish reported photographer RICHARD NOBLE, who took the "iconic picture" of BO JACKSON posing with baseball and football gear, has sued Nike "over its use of the image." Noble in a lawsuit filed Monday in federal court in N.Y. alleges he "snapped the iconic image in 1987 and subsequently licensed it to Nike for use in its 'Bo Knows' advertising." Noble also alleges that Nike "violated his copyright on the image" in '07, '09, '11 and '12. He seeks "damages in addition to attorney costs" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/26).

HONORS & AWARDS: MLB Commissioner BUD SELIG on Thursday night received B'nai B'rith's Int'l Distinguished Humanitarian Award at a ceremony in N.Y., recognizing him for personal and professional commitments to improving the lives of others. NAMES: Former MLBer CHIPPER JONES and Braves Exec VP & GM FRANK WREN were “on hand Thursday morning for the unveiling of a refurbished baseball field at West Manor Park in southwest Atlanta.” The Braves over the coming months “plan to overhaul 10 youth fields around the city as a retirement gift to the former third baseman, who will have his No. 10 retired by the franchise before Friday night's game against the D-backs” (MLB.com, 6/27)….Cavaliers G KYRIE IRVING and actress OLIVIA HOLT have signed on for an ownership role with PlayMG Android gaming system. The duo will play a role in the creative direction of the system, working with the company on specifics including device and case design, app recommendations, marketing campaigns and its social media platform (PlayMG)….Actors ADAM SANDLER, KEVIN JAMES and TNT NBA analyst SHAQUILLE O’NEAL, who all star in the upcoming comedy “GROWN UPS 2,” will serve as grand marshals for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Int’l Speedway on July 6 (DIS)….Rapper WALE revealed that he would be performing at Redskins QB ROBERT GRIFFIN III’s wedding (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/26).
