Ravens, Late Owner's Sons Receive Super Bowl Rings

The Ravens on Friday "received their ultimate reward" for winning Super Bowl XLVII, "collecting their championship rings at a private ceremony at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills," according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore SUN. Team Owner Steve Bisciotti "spoke to the team" and a "highlight video of the championship season was shown." The players then received their rings, which are "made up of white and yellow gold and includes 243 round-cut diamonds." The ring was designed by Jostens, and on the front the Ravens' logo is "outlined with 40 round-cut diamonds sitting atop amethyst stone." Behind the logo are "two Lombardi trophies that represent the organization's two Super Bowl titles." The inside of the ring "includes one of [coach John] Harbaugh's mantras -- 'The team, the team, the team' -- and the scores of the Ravens' playoff victories." Bisciotti also "made sure" John and David Modell -- the sons of late Ravens' Owner Art Modell -- "received rings." Former Ravens Michael McCrary, Peter Boulware, Jamal Lewis, Jonathan Ogden and Matt Stover also received rings, "as did all Ravens' full-time employees" (Baltimore SUN, 6/8). ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley noted one side of the ring "features the wearer's last name and the Ravens' crest, with the words 'Play Like A Raven' around it." On the other side is "a Lombardi trophy sitting in front of the Superdome, where the Ravens won the title." The ring was "designed with the help of" QB Joe Flacco and former LB Ray Lewis (ESPN.com, 6/7).
