Nike named Umbro President & CEO MICHAEL SPILLANE VP & GM of its greater China region, effective in June. Spillane replaces CRAIG CHEEK, who was named VP & GM of Nike's Young Athletes, where he will "oversee strategy and drive growth supporting the company's key categories" (Portland OREGONIAN, 5/2)....Apparel company E.Land formed a new global exec team to oversee K-Swiss, with which it just completed its merger. E.Land named TRUMAN KIM Chair, LARRY REMINGTON President & CEO, BARNEY WATERS CMO and WIM TUIJL Europe Managing Dir. Incumbent COO ED FLORA will remain in his position. Remington replaces former K-Swiss CEO STEVEN NICHOLS and former President DAVID NICHOLS (THE DAILY).

SCOUTING REPORT: The 49ers promoted JOEL PATTEN to Player Personnel Dir, MATT MALASPINA to College Scouting Dir, MIKE WILLIAMS to Pro Personnel Dir, JUSTIN CHABOT to National Scout, STEVE RUBIO to Regional Scout and JOSH WILLIAMS to Pro Personnel Scout (49ers)....The NFL Jets will "not renew the contracts" of Assistant College Scouting Dir MICHAEL DAVIS and Area Scout JOE BOMMARITO (N.Y.
