ACC Looks For Men's Conference Tourney Attendance To Get Back Over 20,000 Mark

The men's ACC Tournament gets under way today, with Greensboro Coliseum hosting the event for the 24th time. Last year's event at Philips Arena averaged below 20,000 attendees for the first time since ’89, the last time Atlanta hosted the tournament in a venue other than the Georgia Dome. Last year’s ACC average also fell below the Big East average (20,057) at MSG for the first time in years. The record average for the ACC Tournament is 36,505, set in ’01 for the conference’s first turn at the Georgia Dome -- a figure that also marked the best attendance on record for any men's basketball conference tournament (THE DAILY).
