PGA Tour's Tom Wade Named Global Commercial Officer; Monahan To Become CMO

Longtime PGA Tour CMO TOM WADE is moving into a new role as the tour’s Global Commercial Officer, and JAY MONAHAN will become the tour’s CMO & Exec VP. In his newly-created position, Wade, who was CMO for the last 18 years, will work closely with Commissioner TIM FINCHEM on long-term growth plans across all aspects of the tour’s business, including international, digital, sponsorship, broadcast and competition. Monahan, who had been Senior VP/Business Development, will now spearhead business development, corporate marketing and partnerships, retail licensing and media sales. Monahan has been with the tour since ‘08. Those moves are part of a broad adjustment within Finchem’s senior management team to better address the tour’s global ambitions. Chief among the moves is PAUL JOHNSON's shift out of digital and into the newly defined role of Senior VP/Int’l Business Affairs. The tour’s non-U.S.-based circuits -- PGA Tour Latinoamérica and PGA Tour Canada -- will report to Johnson, and he will coordinate development outside of the U.S. Johnson had previously overseen the tour’s move to bring its digital rights in-house. The responsibility for digital and PGA Tour Entertainment will now fall on RICK ANDERSON, who also manages television and broadcast units. Anderson’s new title will be Exec VP/TV & New Media. Among the other moves: DAVID PILLSBURY’s title is now Exec VP/Championship Management & Tournament Business. He is also President of Golf Course Properties. Pillsbury’s focus will be revenue generation across tournament business affairs in addition to championship management events, as well as the Web.com Tour and Champions Tour. TY VOTAW's title is now Exec VP & Chief Global Communications Officer. Votaw will take on additional oversight of digital and broadcast, while remaining in his role with the Int’l Golf Federation. ALLISON KELLER's title is now Senior VP/Human Resources & Corporate Affairs. ED MOORHOUSE and CHARLIE ZINK will remain as co-COOs.
