Page Turners: SI, Runners World See Print Ad Revenue Gains Three Years In A Row

Sports Illustrated had $576.8M in ad revenue last year, marking the magazine's third straight year of ad revenue growth, but still well short of figures five years ago, according to data from Publishers Information Bureau. ESPN the Magazine ranked second among major sports publications last year with $259.3M in ad revenue, down for the second straight year. Golf World and Tennis magazines saw some of the sharpest drops among sports mags, with both publications showing a drop of just over 20%. After a few years of steep declines, SI for Kids saw an 18.1% jump in '12. However, the mag remains down 34% from its figure in '08. Runners World has actually shown growth in ad revenue each of the last three years. Its $92.2M in '12 was up 4% from '11 and up 29% from '08. Among golf publications, Golf magazine continues to lead with $162M in ad revenue last year, marking the third straight year of growth.
