Former Suns Exec Jay Parry To Lead Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee

The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee announced it has appointed JAY PARRY as CEO. Parry most recently served as Suns Senior VP/Brand & Business Development. She also spent seven seasons as WNBA Mercury President & COO (Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee). In Phoenix, Craig Harris notes Parry will "oversee the NFL's showcase game when it comes to Glendale in February 2015." As CEO, one of Parry's "biggest responsibilities will be lining up corporate sponsorships to raise the estimated $25 million needed to host the Super Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium." She said that the $25M is "about $8 million more than the amount raised for the 2008 Super Bowl in Glendale." Parry added that she "aims to devote at least $2 million of the money raised to local non-profit organizations." NFL VP/Communications BRIAN MCCARTHY noted that Parry "is the third woman since 2006 to lead a Super Bowl." Parry said that she will "have 25 to 30 full-time staff members and a 'multitude of volunteers'" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 12/14).
