In Phoenix, Sarah McLellan notes NFL Cardinals WR LARRY FITZGERALD last week in his native Minnesota “moonlighted as a barber to shave off” T’Wolves F KEVIN LOVE’s hair. The pair “teamed up to raise awareness for breast cancer and for every view on YouTube, retweet on Twitter or ‘like’ or ‘share’ on Facebook of the video of the haircut.” The two will donate “25 cents -- up to $250,000 -- to the charities Bright Pink and American Cancer Society/Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center” (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 10/26).

AWARDS & RECOGNITION: Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT was named the inaugural recipient of the NFL Players Association Georgetown Lombardi Award and will be recognized at the Annual Lombardi Gala on Nov. 3 in DC (NFL Players)….Tennis player ANDY RODDICK was named to the Palm Beach County Sports HOF (PALM BEACH POST, 10/26)….The NYRR will present SI's KENNY MOORE the George Hirsch Journalism Award for his reporting, writing and broadcasting of the sport of long-distance running (NYRR).

NAMES: The U.S. Court of Appeals in California has “upheld a $1.45 million arbitration award in favor of" former NBAer HORACE GRANT. Grant has spent “more than four years trying to collect on losses stemming from a group of Morgan Keegan bond funds, which declined in value in 2007 and 2008” (REUTERS, 10/25)….Maricopa County (Ariz.) authorities said that former MLBer and D’Backs announcer MARK GRACE has been “indicted in a DUI case and could face nearly four years in prison if he’s convicted” (AP, 10/25)….UFC fighter DOMINICK CRUZ will drive the Pace Car for the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Phoenix Int'l Raceway on Nov. 11 (PIR).
