NFL Panthers GM MARTY HURNEY today has been relieved of his duties. Hurney had been GM since '02 (Panthers). In Charlotte, Scott Fowler writes, "Was it time? Yes. Probably past time, in fact." Hurney has "shepherded a team that has gone 9-29 since the start of the 2010 season." It sounds like Owner JERRY RICHARDSON's "patience is finally running out." Fowler: "So watch out, everyone at Bank of America Stadium -- the Big Cat is fully engaged. And his claws are out" (CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.com, 10/22).

GARDEN GROWTH: MSG Networks named OCEAN MACADAMS Senior VP/Programming & Acquisitions, reporting to Exec VP & GM DANIEL RONAYNE. MacAdams was most recently Warner Music Group GM for its YouTube channel, The Warner Sound. He will be responsible for MSG Networks’ overall content strategy, including the development and production of original programming, acquisitions and scheduling for MSG and MSG+ (MSG).
