Former Billabong CEO MATTHEW PERRIN appeared in an Australian court "charged with defrauding the Commonwealth Bank of [AU]$13.5 million.” Perrin was “charged this week with fraud following a three-year investigation by the State Crime Operations Commands Fraud and Corporate Crime Group.” It is alleged Perrin “defrauded the bank in 2008 by providing false documents and a guarantee relating to mortgages taken out on a home on the Gold Coast.” Police are “alleging Perrin forged the signature of his now ex-wife NICOLE BRICKNELL” (AAP, 10/2).

SEEKING DAMAGES
: Former Penn State assistant football coach MIKE MCQUEARY yesterday sued the university, claiming that school officials “discriminated against him and damaged his reputation.” The suit “alleges that his testimony against [JERRY] SANDUSKY led to unfair treatment by university officials” (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 10/3).
