These Are Better Days: Bruce Springsteen Featured In New MLB Postseason Promos

Turner Sports yesterday announced that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's song "Land of Hope and Dreams" will be featured as the musical accompaniment to a baseball highlight video to be shown during MLB coverage on MLB Network, Fox and MLB.com leading up to and during the '12 postseason. The spot, created by Turner Sports, will focus on some of the noteworthy performances from the '12 MLB season. It will air throughout the next six weeks and also will be featured on video boards at MLB ballparks (Turner Sports). In Newark, Mark Maurer notes the first video features Springsteen "strumming a guitar under overcast skies [which] is juxtaposed with baseball highlights and concert clips." Promos also feature "two of the year's perfect games thrown by" Giants P Matt Cain and White Sox P Phil Humber. While the video "shows the TBS logo emblazoned on the side of a moving train, other versions of the video will air on MLB Network, Fox and MLB.com leading up to and during this year's postseason, which begins Oct. 7" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 8/30).
