Penn State Univ. President RODNEY ERICKSON said that the school is "adequately covered to handle lawsuits stemming from the sexual abuse scandal that has enveloped the campus." He said that the university "has general liability coverage like any institution of its size." Erickson: "We believe that we are adequately covered. In addition to that, we hope to be able to settle as many of these cases as quickly as possible" (AP, 7/28).
YOUTH MOVEMENT: In Charlotte, Caroline McMillan noted NFL Panthers Owner JERRY RICHARDSON, this year's honorary chairman of the Charlotte Observer's Summer Camp Fund, last week spent a morning at YMCA Camp Thunderbird answering questions from campers ages 11-16. Richardson, using a legal pad, "wrote five core values and showed them to the campers: hard work, harmony, teamwork, listen and respect." Richardson said that respect "is most important." He said that someone could work for the Panthers "without having a (perfect) 10 on the first four values." Richardson: "But I have zero tolerance if you don't show respect.
