Overnight Ratings: ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" Down, Nationwide Series Up

Overnight ratings for weekend sports telecasts were led by ESPN’s coverage of the British Open. On broadcast TV, NBC led the way with its “30 Greatest NBC Olympic Moments” special on Saturday night, earning a 2.1 overnight. Meanwhile, ESPN earned a 1.4 overnight for Rangers-Angels “Sunday Night Baseball,” down 18% from a 1.7 rating for Reds-Braves on the comparable weekend last season. ESPN earned a 1.8 overnight for the NASCAR Nationwide Series STP 300 from Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday afternoon, up 64% from the series’ race on the comparable weekend last year, which aired from Nashville Superspeedway.
