Broadcaster Pang Turns Down TSN Offer To Stay With Blues, FS Midwest

Blues TV analyst Darren Pang "has decided to stay" in the FS Midwest booth instead of taking an "offer from Canadian network TSN to be an analyst on its national coverage" of the NHL, according to Dan Caesar of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. Pang said, "I was really happy that (Blues and FSM officials) stepped up. ... [TSN] did present something very good to me. But I really enjoy it here." Pang has "done extensive work" for ESPN, ESPN2, ABC and NBC, but said that he "enjoys covering one team more than bouncing from game to game as is the case for a national broadcaster." Blues radio analyst Kelly Chase and TV analyst Bernie Federko "also have reached contract agreements to return." Blues COO Bruce Affleck said that it was "key to retain the popular analysts." Chase has been "the team's radio analyst for the last 11 seasons." Federko also has "spent 11 seasons on Blues broadcasts." He is to "stay in the FSM role he's had the last three seasons, primarily working from the Blues bench." He also does "some studio-commentator work" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 7/6).
