In L.A., Pringle & Lin report L.A. Memorial Coliseum Commission President DAVID ISRAEL "resigned abruptly Wednesday, saying he quit because his work on a deal to grant USC stewardship of the nearly bankrupt stadium was complete." Israel's departure "came as a key state official sharply criticized the commission for its handling of negotiations to turn over operation of the Coliseum to USC" (L.A. TIMES, 6/7).
