Excel Sports Management agent MARK STEINBERG, who reps TIGER WOODS, was “arrested on DWI and aggravated DWI charges” Saturday night in Ardsley, N.Y. (AP, 6/3). Steinberg in an e-mail said, “It’s a medical issue that I was dealing with. It’s not what you think.” But Ardsley Police Department spokesperson Sergeant DAVE FISHER said that Steinberg “gave no indications of a medical issue” (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 6/3).

GETTING HONORED: Boxing announcers AL BERSTEIN and MICHAEL BUFFER and writer MICHAEL KATZ will be inducted on Sunday into the International Boxing HOF (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 6/4)….Senators Founder and former Owner BRUCE FIRESTONE, former Senators Vice Chair & Alternate Governor ROD BRYDEN, former CEO, President & GM RANDY SEXTON and current team President CYRIL LEEDER will be inducted into the Ottawa Sports HOF (OTTAWA SUN, 6/3)….In Boston, Nick Cafardo noted the Red Sox honored former VP/Public Affairs DICK BRESCIANI “for his 40 years of service with the organization by having him throw out the first pitch” before Wednesday’s game against the Tigers.
