Veteran digital media exec JIM DELORENZO has been named VP & GM of SI.com, the first exec to have the title since the site regained control of its business operations following a split with Turner Sports. DeLorenzo, who had previous stints with Octagon Digital, CBS Local Media and AOL, will report to SI Group President MARK FORD and JOHN CANTARELLA, Senior VP/Digital for Time Inc.'s Business, News & Sports Group (Eric Fisher, SportsBusiness Journal).

JOINING THE TEAM: U.K. Athletics named Team U.K. Paralympic hopeful SOPHIA WARNER Commercial Dir. In London, Simon Hart noted it is Warner's experience as a marketing exec "at companies such as British Telecom, Nestle and Palmer & Harvey that has landed her the job of steering UK Athletics' commercial future when the Games are over." One of her "first tasks will be to secure a new main sponsor" after the U.K. Athletics' four-year deal with Aviva expires later this year. Aviva has been in talks about "renewing its sponsorship though no decision is expected until after the Games" (London TELEGRAPH, 5/21).
