Overnight Ratings: Fox' NASCAR At Talladega, CBS' PGA Tour Up On Sunday

Coverage of the Kentucky Derby and the NBA led all sports telecasts in overnight Nielsen ratings over the weekend. Fox saw a slight uptick for its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series telecast from Talladega Superspeedway.  The Aaron’s 499 yesterday, which saw Brad Keselowski take the checkered flag, earned a 4.7 overnight, up slightly from a 4.6 rating for the same race last year, which aired in mid-April. The net’s MLB regional coverage on Saturday earned a 1.4 overnight, down from a 1.7 on the comparable weekend last year. Meanwhile, CBS earned a 2.4 overnight for the final round of the PGA Tour Wells Fargo Championship yesterday, which saw Rickie Fowler defeat Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points in a playoff. That figure is up 20% from a 2.0 rating last year, which saw Lucas Glover beat Jonathan Byrd in a playoff. The win was the first on the Tour for Fowler. CBS also saw a small uptick for coverage on Saturday (1.5 vs. 1.3).
