Golden Boy Promotions and Golden Boy Enterprises CEO RICHARD SCHAEFER yesterday agreed to a long-term contract extension. He has been with the companies since '00 (Golden Boy). ESPN.com's Dan Rafael noted Schaefer's contract extension "puts to rest the buzz in the boxing business that he was preparing to leave the company to set out on his own after the expiration of his deal." Schaefer has been "intimately involved in many of boxing's biggest fights since the formation of Golden Boy." He also has "negotiated dozens of deals with HBO, Showtime, ESPN and several other networks on top of numerous sponsorship and venue agreements" (ESPN.com, 4/11).

LACKING VALUE: EPL club Liverpool has parted ways with Dir of Football Strategy DAMIEN COMOLLI. Comolli joined the club in Nov. '10 and was promoted to his current position in March '11 (London TELEGRAPH, 4/12). The GUARDIAN notes Comolli left the club "by mutual consent" after Owner Fenway Sports Group decided the "high profile, expensive signings ... have not delivered value" (GUARDIAN, 4/12).

EXECS: Hofstra Univ. named Exec Associate AD DANNY MCCABE Interim AD, succeeding JACK HAYES, who left for the same position at Brown Univ.
