CAA Hockey's Pat Brisson Staying With Agency, Will Not Pursue Canadiens' GM Spot

CAA Hockey co-Head PAT BRISSON said last night that while he is flattered to have been publicly mentioned as a potential candidate for the vacant Canadiens GM post, he is staying with the agency. "First of all, to hear my name mentioned is flattering," Brisson said in his first public interview since his name surfaced as a replacement for PIERRE GAUTHIER, who was fired last month. Brisson: "I am from Montreal. I grew up in Montreal." But Brisson said that he is staying at CAA, where he and hockey division co-Head J.P. BARRY represent 65 players, including Penguins Cs SIDNEY CROSBY and EVGENI MALKIN, Kings LW ANZE KOPITAR and Blackhawks Cs PATRICK KANE and JONATHAN TOEWS. "We not only have some of the best players in the world, but I feel confident in saying we have some of the best people on and off the ice," Brisson said. He would not discuss what discussions he may have had with the club. "They are contacting a lot of really good candidates and they want to keep everything confidential," Brisson said.
