Suns Take Season-Ticket Holders Behind The Scenes Of Organization

The Suns on Thursday night invited season-ticket holders to "spend a night 'Inside the Huddle,' and around" 1,100 of them came to US Airways Center to "hear members of the organization and interact with them at four backstage areas, including the training room and locker room," according to Paul Coro of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. Coro wrote it was the Suns' "twist on how they can provide a more personal experience." Patrons were "split into four groups and sent through a cycle of four stations" that lasted 20 minutes each. Head trainer Aaron Nelson and strength and conditioning coach Mike Elliott hosted "The Suns' secret to player longevity and performance." Suns radio announcer Al McCoy gave a "peek into the work of the front office" by hosting "Evaluating, drafting and attracting basketball talent." He was joined by President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby, Dir of Player Personnel John Treloar, VP/Player Programs Mark West and G Shannon Brown. "Legacy of Success" was a session that "featured a four-minute video chronicling" 44 years of Suns basketball followed by a talk with team Managing Partner Robert Sarver, who was joined by G Steve Nash and Fs Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress. Coach Alvin Gentry hosted "Coaching for success." After the fans "went through all four sessions, there was an opportunity to return to any area and talk or get autographs, as Gentry stayed until each person was acknowledged." Suns President Brad Casper said, "Access and high-touch environment is something we do. Essentially, this was a field trip to the Phoenix Suns. It was explorational and experiential, and I hope it was aspirational" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 4/1).
