Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Signs With ESPN To Pen A Bi-Weekly Online Column

ESPN.com has signed Basketball HOFer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as a columnist. Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's all-time leading scorer and now a best-selling author and head of the Skyhook Foundation, will write a bi-weekly column covering a wide range of sports-related topics. Columns will likely delve significantly into social and political issues, given the background of Abdul-Jabbar's many books exploring those areas, and his current standing as a U.S. global cultural ambassador. Abdul-Jabbar's most recent book is a children's title covering the history of African-American inventors called "What Color Is My World?" that was published in January. “Kareem brings a thoughtful approach to everything he does,” ESPN Senior VP/Editorial, Print & Digital Media VP Rob King said in a statement. “Fans are certain to be both entertained and enriched by his singular perspective.”
