The Packer Picker-Upper: Wisconsin Company Producing Paper Towels With Lambeau Logo

Wisconsin-based TailGate Productions has launched Tailgate Towels, "two-ply paper towels featuring Lambeau Field logos and other football-related designs,” according to Richard Ryman of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. The company through early January has "produced about 85,000 two-packs" of the Packers-themed paper towels, and TailGate plans to be at Sunday's Giants-Packers NFC Divisional playoff game “promoting the towels and the places that sell them, including the Packers Pro Shop.” The towels uses the Packers' Lambeau Field trademark; TailGate co-Founder Scott Laurin said that the “Packers name and ‘G’ trademarks are controlled by the NFL.” Laurin added that the Packers marketing execs “instantly liked the idea and were helpful in getting the product launched.” The company also “has orders for the Buffalo Bills and Louisiana State University, and on Wednesday it received approval to use the University of Wisconsin trademarks.”  The company “has a booth this week at the Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show in Las Vegas” (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 1/13).
