Marketplace Roundup

SCENEDAILY.com’s Bob Pockrass noted NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth, who sits third in the Chase for the Sprint Cup standings, “still needs sponsors for 2012.” But that “won’t keep Kenseth out of a ride,” as team owner Jack Roush “has committed to running Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Kenseth next year.” Roush: “We will run it with or without a sponsor next year, but it will be a shame if we are not able to attract sponsorship. We are talking to people with some interest, but this is my 24th year of being in the business and this is the most difficult time I’ve had” (SCENEDAILY.com, 10/17).

NEW LOOK: In Ft. Lauderdale, Ira Winderman noted included in the release of EA Sports’ "NBA 2K12" video game “is an alternate-jersey option for the Heat, one never before worn in game action by the team, but one that has been confirmed will be part of the rotation should the 2011-12 season eventually get under way.” The jersey, “a stark black-and-white offering that was utilized on the team’s 2010-11 poster, will be used for a few, select games, with the traditional black and the alternate red uniforms to remain the staples beyond the home whites” (SUN-SENTINEL.com, 10/17).

ON THE GREEN: Golfer Keegan Bradley and Cleveland Golf have agreed to “a multi-year extension,” and Bradley “will play Cleveland woods, irons and wedges as well as a Srixon ball.” He will also "continue using headwear adorned with the company names and logos." Financial terms of the deal were not released (ESPN.com 10/14).

MAKING A CONNECTION: The NFL Giants have inked a multiyear partnership with Adorama, making the company the team’s official electronics retailer. Adorama will have a cross-channel presence across all Giants media including online at Giants.com, on their social networking sites, during their TV and radio programming, as well as in-stadium signage and promotions at MetLife Stadium. Exclusive in-store and online deals will be complimented by special game-time events such as the fan photograph of the week, which will be shown on the in-stadium videoboards (Giants).
