Overnight Ratings: CBS' Alabama-Florida In Primetime Leads Weekend College Football
CBS’ Alabama-Florida matchup led all weekend college football telecasts with a 4.7 overnight Nielsen rating. However, the network’s lone regular-season SEC primetime telecast was down 7.8% from a 5.1 overnight for the same matchup in primetime last year. Up against Alabama-Florida, ABC earned a 3.2 overnight for Wisconsin’s blowout win in Nebraska’s first regular-season Big Ten matchup ever. ABC’s regionalized 3:30pm ET window actually fared better with a 3.5 overnight, but that window was down significantly from a 4.8 overnight for regional action in the same window last year. Arkansas’ OT win over Texas A&M marked ESPN’s best college football audience with a 2.3 overnight. Fox aired its second EPL match on Sunday, with Arsenal-Tottenham Hostpur earning a 1.1 overnight following the net’s big NFL singleheader rating. The net’s first EPL match -- Chelsea-Manchester United -- earned a 1.2 overnight on Sept. 18.
