In Nashville, Brian Haas reports the Nashville Sports Authority “has approved a 10-year contract” extension for Delaware North Cos. to provide concessions at the Predators’ Bridgestone Arena. The deal would extend the contract “until 2023, and the company would be responsible for footing the bill for certain technology improvements, including a faster credit card system.” Improvements include “adding more locations where credit cards are accepted and speeding processing of those transactions at the arena.” Delaware North has “held the contract since 1996” (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 9/27).

TRAFFIC ISSUES: In L.A., Kate Linthicum reports during an L.A. City Council meeting yesterday AEG officials "laid out preliminary proposals on how to ease traffic congestion and improve public transit" near the proposed Farmers Field. They described “a parking strategy that would direct game-day drivers to parking zones based on the direction they’re traveling from and explained plans for an AEG-funded expansion of a light rail station on Pico Boulevard." However, officials did not say “what they would do to encourage football fans to use public transportation to get to the stadium" (L.A. TIMES, 9/27).

HIGHEST BIDDER: HiLo Tickets yesterday announced the debut of an interactive auction-style marketplace for consumers to purchase tickets. HiLo starts all auctions at $0.01, and every time a bid is made, the auction increases by an additional penny. The site only auctions off sold-out, high-demand events (HiLo).
