DC United has reached an agreement with LivingSocial, making the discount website an official partner of the MLS club. The partnership kicked off last night during United's game against Chivas USA with "LivingSocial Night." In addition to giveaways during the match, the first 10,000 fans entering RFK were set to receive co-branded supporters flags (DC United)....Braun, the Procter & Gamble-owned electric shaving brand, has named La Liga club Real Madrid manager José Mourinho as its "first global brand ambassador." Mourinho will "front the upcoming campaign to promote the brand's Series shaving range, featuring TV and print activity." The effort "will showcase Braun's premium men's electric shavers, including the Series 7 and Series 3" (MARKETINGMAGAZINE.co.uk, 9/22)....YAHOO SPORTS' Brooks Peck reported La Liga club Valencia, in the absence of a uniform sponsor, "decided to take the opportunity for a little self promotion and slapped their Twitter handle on the front of their shirts for their match" yesterday against FC Barcelona. This "might be the first time a top flight club advertised a Twitter account on their kits" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/21).
