Comcast SportsNet Creating Local Versions Of NBC Sports Talk For RSN Websites

Comcast SportsNet has created for each of its RSN's websites local versions of the NBC Sports Talk platform used for NBCSports.com and its network blog sites. Beginning with CSNPhilly.com and continuing over the next few weeks through the rest of the CSN portfolio, the sites will feature redesigns with new Talk platforms built around each of the local pro teams. With the online reworkings, each of the RSNs will also utilize combined newsrooms for digital and linear TV distribution. "We're now really beginning to take advantage of all the synergies of the new [Comcast-NBC] structure," said Comcast Sports Group Exec VP/Chief Digital Officer Eric Grilly. "Having these localized versions of Sports Talk we think helps position us to having an unprecedented level of coverage of our local teams." The new sites were built with the aid of online and brand communications outfits Digitas, the Brownstein Group and Platformic.
