CHRIS MARCIANI has been hired as MLB's new VP/National Sales in its corporate sales and marketing division. Marciani has been VP/Sales & Marketing at Michael Waltrip Racing since May '09. He was senior account manager in NASCAR's N.Y. sales office; spent two years as VP/Partnership Marketing at Bobcats Sports & Entertainment; and was AFL Manager of Corporate Partnerships from '01-03. Marciani was also Dir of Client Services for SME Branding and he broke into the business with Collegiate Licensing Company. The move completes a reshuffling in MLB's sponsorship sales department, necessitated by the departures last year of former MLB Senior VP/Corporate Sales & Marketing JOHN BRODY, who went to Wasserman Media Group as its global sales head, and former VP/Corporate Sales & Marketing ARI ROITMAN, who left late last year to become Senior VP/Business with the Eagles. LOU KOSKOVOLIS joined MLB in January as Senior VP/Corporate Sales & Sponsorship, replacing Brody. Marciani, who starts work this week, is filling Roitman's old job and reports to Koskovolis.
