The AFL averaged 8,255 fans per game during the ’11 regular season, up 1.5% from 8,135 fans last season. League attendance, however, remains far below levels prior to the canceled ’09 season. AFL teams averaged 12,958 fans per game in ’08 and 12,415 fans in ’07. The Orlando Predators again led all clubs with 12,701 fans per game at Amway Center, up 13.4%. Among the four expansion teams this season, the Philadelphia Soul had the best average (9,802), ranking fourth overall among AFL clubs. Following a move from Shreveport to New Orleans, the VooDoo saw the biggest gain in attendance. The Utah Blaze (+74%) and Dallas Vigilantes (+50%) also saw double-digit percentage gains, while the Tampa Bay Storm (-29%) and Milwaukee Mustangs (-28%) saw the sharpest drops.
