ESPN named CHUCK PAGANO to the newly created position of Exec VP & Chief Technology Officer. Pagano was hired as a Technical Dir when the net launched in '79. In his new role, he will lead all of ESPN's core technical functions and operations including distribution, transmission, engineering, IT, software development, technology innovation and strategic technology forecasting (ESPN)....Farmers Insurance President of Enterprise Marketing C. PAUL PATSIS will retire at the end of the year. His work with the company included helping to secure naming rights for the proposed Farmers Field in L.A. and signing a new deal with NASCAR. Patsis' departure comes after Exec VP & CMO KEVIN KELSO quietly left the company in May (THE DAILY).

EXECS: Old Dominion Univ. named LSU Assistant Dir of Athletic Marketing ANDREW ROWDON Assistant AD for Marketing.
