Overnight Ratings: Brickyard 400 Tops Weekend Sports Telecasts

ESPN led all weekend sports telecasts with its broadcast of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400, while Fox led broadcast TV sports telecasts with a 1.8 overnight for MLB regional coverage, highlighted by Cubs-Cardinals in 50% of markets. CBS scored a 1.5 overnight for the final round of PGA Tour Greenbrier Classic, which saw Scott Stallings win his first tour event in a three-way playoff with Bob Estes and Bill Haas. That figure was up 25% from a 1.2 overnight for the final round of last year's inaugural Greenbrier, which saw Stuart Appleby get the win. ABC saw the X Games return to the net after a hiatus last year. This year's Saturday coverage got a 0.6 overnight, down 33%.
