The Redskins said that COO & General Counsel DAVID DONOVAN is "leaving the organization and will return" to WilmerHale, the law firm where he worked before joining the team six years ago. Donovan said that he is "leaving for 'personal reasons,' and under his own terms." He had served as outside counsel for Redskins Owner DANIEL SNYDER prior to joining the team. While with the Redskins, Donovan "served as Snyder's spokesman on controversial issues" (WASHINGTON POST, 7/12).

EXECS: The Indians named ALEX KING to the newly created position of Dir of Brand Management. King most recently served as Brand Manager of New Business Creation for Procter & Gamble's Duracell and Febreze divisions (Indians)....Hockey East Commissioner JOE BERTAGNA has been given a contract extension through the '13-14 season. The organization also named MIKE CHANDLER VP/Sports Industry Relations. Chandler previously worked for USA Volleyball (NATD).
