Alan Ostfield Let Go As President & CEO Of Palace Sports & Entertainment

Ostfield is let go as Palace Sports
President & CEO
Palace Sports & Entertainment President & CEO ALAN OSTFIELD was the "first casualty of the new regime" under TOM GORES, "being let go after 10 years," according to Vincent Goodwill of the DETROIT NEWS. When Ostfield succeeded TOM WILSON after his resignation in February '10, he said that he "knew it might be temporary." Ostfield said, "This was never about me and I've said this a number of times. It was about helping the organization get from point A to point B. I knew this would be an inevitable transition from Mr. (WILLIAM) DAVIDSON to new ownership." He added, "We all knew when we were sold, the CEO is the first person they're going to want to go. ... Disappointment, I'd say that. To not be able to finish what we and others started. That's my overriding emotion. We did some really good things during some tough times" (DETROIT NEWS, 7/1). CRAIN's DETROIT BUSINESS reported several other PSE employees "are thought to have been ousted as well." The moves are "part of the management transition in the wake" of Gores buying PSE and the Pistons earlier this year. Ostfield joined the organization in '00 as Senior VP/Legal Affairs and became COO of PSE and the Pistons, as well as Pistons Assistant GM, in '02 (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 6/30).
