Cardinals, Reds Top List Of MLB Clubs In Home Market Fan Penetration

Untitled Document

The Cardinals top all MLB clubs in terms of local market fan penetration, according to data from Scarborough Sports Marketing. St. Louis had the highest percentage (73%) of any MLB home market where adults (fans) said they had watched a game on TV, listened to a game on the radio or attended at least one game during the past year. The Reds, Twins, Red Sox and Phillies rounded out the top five of the list. The Red Sox’ drop to No. 4 in the most recent data marks the first time in several years that the team was not among the top two in the league. The Rangers saw the biggest jump on the heels of their World Series appearance, moving up 11 spots to No. 10 overall. The defending-champion Giants moved up to No. 17, while the Reds moved up to No. 2 after making their first playoff appearance in 15 seasons. The D’Backs saw the largest drop in the rankings, dipping seven spots to No. 18. Listed below are MLB teams ranked by percentage of fans who said they had watched a game on TV, listened to a game on the radio or attended at least one game during the past year. Data is among U.S. markets only, with no ranking included for the Blue Jays (Scarborough Sports Marketing).
