What's Up For The Weekend With Zelo PR Pro Sports & Entertainment's Carla Rosenberg

Ever wonder how executives in sports business spend their weekends? THE DAILY this week continues "What's Up For The Weekend," providing readers with an inside look at people in our industry. This week, we catch up with Dallas-native and Zelo PR Pro Sports & Entertainment Division Senior VP CARLA ROSENBERG, who chatted with Staff Writer Theresa Manahan.

Q: What are your plans for this weekend?
Rosenberg: I am going to be in L.A.

Q: What are you really looking forward to this weekend? Anything special planned?
Rosenberg: Spending time with good friends and family, and hiking Runyon Canyon.

Q: What do you like to watch and read on the weekend?
Rosenberg: I typically catch up on all the shows that I’ve TiVo’d during the week, like OPRAH (alas, no more) and ELLEN. People magazine is a standard weekend read and any other articles, trade journals, or magazines that I put aside during the week to catch up on over the weekend.

Q: What workout routines or activities do you like to do on the weekend?
Rosenberg: In the last year I started participating in triathlons (sprint and Olympic distances), which are highly addicting. I love to ride my bike outdoors on the weekend. It’s a great time for me to organize my thoughts while I’m cycling.

Q: What is the one thing our readers would be most surprised you do on the weekend?
Rosenberg: We have a family dinner at my parents’ house every Friday night.

Q: Best weekend ever?
Rosenberg: My best friend just got married in South Africa on a game reserve in March. It was a pretty spectacular weekend -- Beautiful surroundings, amazing people, excellent music and energy, and an overall fun time.

Q: Guilty weekend pleasure?
Rosenberg: Yoga. ... Namaste.

Q: What is your favorite local nightlife activity?
Rosenberg: I just got season tickets to the Dallas Summer Musicals, and I’m really enjoying my outings to the theatre. I definitely enjoy live sporting events and concerts, and spend a good amount of time at the American Airlines Center attending Stars and Mavs games, as well as concerts.

Q: Must see weekend game?
Rosenberg: You mean there are other things to watch besides Dallas Mavericks NBA championship highlights? I guess the U.S. Open golf is this weekend. I, however, will be ramping up for Monday, as my favorite fortnight begins -- Wimbledon.
