Polo Ralph Lauren's Golf Head To Caddy For Friend In U.S. Open Next Week

TOM NOLAN, who runs Polo Ralph Lauren’s golf and tennis initiatives, will be busier than normal next week at the U.S. Open. In addition to directing Polo’s official apparel relationship with the USGA, Nolan will be caddying for MICHAEL BARBOSA, a friend who qualified for the tournament Monday at Vero Beach, Fla. Barbosa grabbed one of three qualifying spots with rounds of 68-73 at Quail Valley Golf Club, and advanced into the U.S. Open by surviving a playoff. Nolan, a strong golfer himself, formerly worked as the publisher at Golf World before joining Polo Ralph Lauren in '09. The company struck the official apparel deal with the USGA last fall and designed the merchandise pavilion for the U.S. Open, which goes June 16-19. The pavilion opened today next to the 17th hole at Congressional.
