Overnight Nielsen Ratings: Fox' UEFA Champions League Final Up 64% From '10

Untitled Document

While the Indianapolis 500 led all weekend sports telecasts in overnight Nielsen ratings, it was the NASCAR Sprint Cup Coca-Cola 600 that ended up on top in fast national ratings. NBC began its weekend French Open coverage, with both Saturday and Sunday coverage seeing dips in overnight ratings compared to last year. The network's final round of the Senior PGA Championship (0.7 overnight) on Sunday was also down from a 0.9 rating last year. Fox earned a 1.8 overnight for Saturday's UEFA Champions League final, which saw FC Barcelona defeat Manchester United in the network's second-ever soccer broadcast. That rating is up 64% from the net’s inaugural soccer telecast last year, which saw Inter Milan defeat Bayern Munich. ESPN in ‘09 aired the FC Barcelona-Manchester United final, which earned a 1.0 overnight on a Wednesday afternoon. CBS' coverage of the PGA Tour HP Byron Nelson Championship was flat in overnights on both Saturday and Sunday.
